The Faculty of Dental Sciences of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura was established in
December 2021 as the ninth faculty of the University, which is the largest university in Sri
Lanka in terms of student numbers. It is the second dental faculty in Sri Lanka, marking a
significant milestone in dental education in the country.
The Faculty comprises nine academic departments and is committed to excellence in dental
education, training, and research. Since its establishment, the Faculty has focused on producing
competent, ethical, and community-oriented dental graduates while contributing to the
advancement of oral health care and academic development in Sri Lanka.
