The Faculty of Dental Sciences welcomed the 3rd batch of undergraduates on the 1st of February at the Board Room of the Faculty of Medical Sciences. This momentous occasion was graced by the presence of the Vice Chancellor of the university, Senior Professor Pathmalal M. Manage who welcomed the new batch highlighting the importance of tradition and discipline and briefed on the proud history of the university. Senior Professor Surangi G. Yasawardene, Dean, Faculty of Dental Sciences addressing the new entrants and their parents focused on the dental curriculum offered at the faculty and the facilities available. Prof. Priyake Palipana, Professor in Restorative Dentistry and Head, Department of Restorative Dentistry addressed the gathering with an interesting introduction in to the realm of dentistry. Dr. Rasika Ekanayaka, Coordinator of the Orientation Programme delivered the Welcome Address. The ceremony was also attended by the Academic members of the Faculty of Dental Sciences, Mr. A.B Weliwita, Registrar of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and Mr. Dassana Thillekaratne, Acting Senior Assistant Registrar of the Faculty of Dental Sciences.
