The Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, held the Clinical Induction Ceremony for the 2nd batch of dental undergraduates on 30th March 2026, marking the commencement of their clinical training.
The ceremony was graced by Senior Prof. M. M. Pathmalal, Vice Chancellor of the University, who delivered the chief guest address, emphasizing the importance of professionalism, responsibility, and compassionate patient care. The Dean of the Faculty of Dental Sciences, Prof. Priyake Palipana, warmly welcomed the gathering and outlined the expectations and structure of the clinical training programme. The ceremony was further enriched by the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Manori Gamage.
The programme also included an insightful session titled “Healing with Hands and Heart” delivered by Dr. Lakmal Kulasekara, highlighting the humanistic aspects of dental care. A briefing on clinical appointments and procedures was provided by Dr. Amirthavarshini Rajaganesh, preparing students for their clinical responsibilities.
The event was attended by distinguished academic, extended faculty members and administrative staff , whose guidance and mentorship play a vital role in shaping future dental professionals.
